Ikaika Malú
I’m Ikaika Malú, an artist raised in Pavones, Costa Rica, where the ocean, culture, and creativity shape everything I create
My name is Ikaika Malú. I was born in Costa Rica and have grown up my entire life in Pavones, a small coastal town known around the world for having the second longest left-hand wave. Living here means being surrounded every day by the ocean, the jungle, and a life that moves with nature instead of against it.
My roots run deep and wide. My mom is from Venezuela, my dad is from the United States, and I carry both cultures in my blood. That mix of backgrounds, languages, and perspectives shows up naturally in my art. Bright expressive, and connected to place.
Everything I create is inspired by what I see and feel around me: the waves, the colors, the animals, the people, and the simple beauty of everyday life in Pavones. Art is how I tell my story and share where I come from.
I invite you to follow along, explore my work, and experience the world through my eyes.
With deep gratitude to everyone who has supported me along my path, you know who you are 🤍
